The Missouri Valley African Violet Council returns to the Hawkeye State for “Violets, A Wonderful World of Color” at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Waterloo, Iowa, Friday, October 9th through Saturday, October 10th, 2026.

Plan to see fine examples of African violets and other gesneriads, grown to near perfection by some of the region's best growers.

Set-up for the show will begin around 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 8th. Entries will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday, October 9th. Judging of the show will be from 1:30 until completion Friday afternoon.

The Showroom opens to the public at 9 a.m. Saturday morning and will be open until 4 p.m. on October 10th. African violets and other plants will be available for sale beginning at 9 a.m. until they are gone.

Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., we will have a special presentation, by Dale Martens, well-known grower and hybridizer of some of our favorite gesneriads. Dale will present an educational program about "Growing Gesneriad Show Plants." You won't want to miss it!
